July 4th

July 7th, 2009
· by Rosalinda · Filed Under: 3 Day Getaway Certificate · 4th July · Holidays · Independence Day · Photo · Spotlights · Video Clip · celebrations

I hope you enjoyed the July 4th festivities. We created our own which began in Mount Charleston (just outside Las Vegas). We continued the celebrations in Vegas, as you can see in the video below. You may also be able to compare this one to last year’s celebrations somewhere in this blog journal.

Quick note re. a previous article: For those of you who did the research on water crystals as well as view the rice experiment, will perhaps understand the success of my own personal experience.

I placed a label with a very special word on it, on a small bottle of eye solution. At that time, my eyes were very sore, hurting, dry, and extremely uncomfortable. I could hardly keep my eyes open. In the past, I would resort to using eye drops that would produce very little or no immediate effect (nerve damage/side effect due to a previous car accident). This was the perfect moment for me to try something different since the discomfort was at its highest level.

After some contemplation, I thought I would ”test the waters”  and proceeded to select my word and place the label on the bottle. After a minute or so, I tried the solution, and was astounded at the immediate results. Not only did it work right away but the discomfort never came back (as it often did).

It has worked ever since (whenever I get those spells). I am curious to know how many of you have tried the water experiment and, if so, what word you have chosen? For some fun, if you can guess my word I’ll throw in a 3 day getaway. Let me know via this article so we can all take a peak. Also, if you decide to do the experiment let us know what personal word you have chosen. If you haven’t a clue what I am talking about go to the “Art/Photo” spotlight, select the current spotlight on there, and view the video clips. The rice experiment is the last one to view.

One final note: Look at the previous article, “Song of the Magpie” and see if you detect anything unusual in one of the photos and video clips. It’s pretty amazing! If you can guess what it is, a 3 day getaway is yours as well (for 2 adults and 2 kids). Don’t forget to respond via that article. This concludes our July 4th fun!

4th July Celebration

July 1st, 2009

Independence HallPicture by: Sam LeVan/ Philadelphia, PA.

The declaration of America’s Independence on July 4th 1776, the day the wording of the declaration was APPROVED by congress, was proclaimed inside this building, preparing the way for the birth of the “United States Constitution” which was in later years drafted, debated and signed within these walls.

Click on  the picture, “Independence Hall” to view a very special card!

Now sit back and click on the flags below to enjoy the following slide presentation and music presented by high school students, playing impressive trumpet sounds and singing the “Battle Hymn of The Republic.”

This song, written by Julie Howe in 1861, contributes to the overall theme of this article, declaring the continued fight for freedom. This fight wears many hats that are ultimately shelved to collect dust indicating, as the history books confirm, man’s constant struggle for freedom, power, and independence. The journey is ongoing until man learns how to WIN the war FOR All the inhabitants of the earth! Before he can do this, perhaps he needs to remove his hat…….

Click on these flags, photo by Paula Brewer from New York, to hear the words of the song below. (After, read the little note at the bottom).

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.

Chorus:

Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on. Chorus
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on.” Chorus
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on. Chorus
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die (now “live”) to make men free,
While God is marching on. Chorus
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succor to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on. Chorus
Quick note: I want to give you a little more time to study the current art/photo spotlight (videos and links) before I share my experience with you. By the way, I hope you enjoyed my previous articles on the monastery and the song of the magpie. Thank you to those who took a moment to comment! I’m in love with that baby magpie, so I will do some more filming of “Benny Monk!” I’ll be out of town for a few days, so here’s an early happy 4th July to you!
